ATHENA workshop held in Orléans on March 15 and 16, 2023

On March 15 and 16, a workshop on multimaterials in extreme conditions was organized on the initiative of MATEX and LE STUDIUM Loire Valley. 17 colleagues working on materials under extreme conditions, from 5 ATHENA universities as well as researchers involved in the MATEX program took part in this event.

The University of Orléans is part of the European ATHENA University, an alliance of nine higher education and research establishments. The European Universities Initiative is a flagship project of the European Union in the field of higher education and research, aiming to make Europe's universities more open to the world, more efficient and more inclusive.

The first day of the workshop took place at Hôtel Dupanloup, and was devoted to discussions and presentations of the MATEX program, the 9 labs involved and the Doctoral Network project. The following day was followed by a day of visits to laboratories involved in MATEX between Orléans and Blois: CEMHTI, CREMAN, GREMI, ICARE, ICMN.

Many thanks to LE STUDIUM Loire Valley, the teams from CEMHTI, GREMAN, GREMI, ICARE, ICMN and the delegation from the ATHENA alliance for these two days rich in exchanges and information, which have enabled collaborative projects to emerge and the Doctoral Network consortium initiated by MATEX to be strengthened.
